VOICES IN PHILOSOPHY: GERMAN

PHIL 331T

Discussion-based course trains students with advanced intermediate proficiency in German to read and analyze core philosophical texts in German, typically in conjunction with a lecture course offered in philosophy. Classes include close readings of original texts, discussions of interpretation and application in variety of other forms (including film, documentary, multimedia) and real-life situations. Students examine how language/culture impact our understanding of core philosophical texts through attention to issues such as translation, vernacular, and word choice. Tutorials meet weekly for 75 minutes. Recommended Instructor: Staff
