Freedom and Moral Obligation

Are moral obligations limitations on our freedom, or are they, as some philosophers have insisted, the fullest expression of freedom? What does it mean to act freely, and is freedom required for morality? We'll focus on three main philosophical texts: Plato's Gorgias, Kant's Groundwork of the Metaphysics of Morals, and P.F. Strawson's 'Freedom and Resentment.'
