How has being a Philosophy graduate from Duke helped shape you personally and/or professionally?

"Both personally and professionally, being a philosophy graduate from Duke has forever shaped the way that I approach and think about things. It has permanently changed my analytical, reading, and writing skills. It was also instrumental in my time in law school, both for these reasons and for the way it challenged me to step outside of my comfort zone to view multiple sides of an argument. Without the Duke philosophy program--and especially Professor Alex Rosenberg--I would not be where I am today."

What advice would you give students in Duke's Philosophy programs?

"Challenge yourself. Do not be afraid to take courses with "difficult" or "different" reading(s). Engage with fellow students and your professors. Use them as a resource to develop depth and breadth in your education. These collegial conversations will never be the same as they are at Duke."
