2008 Major: Philosophy and Economics

How has being a Philosophy graduate from Duke helped shape you personally and/or professionally?

"There are several things I use on a daily basis - Breaking problems down into component parts - Logical thinking - Approaching problems from first principles"

What advice would you give students in Duke's Philosophy programs?

"Honestly? I think that the double major approach (both myself and my spouse doubled Philosophy with another degree) was the right thing to do. We got to explore something we enjoyed (Philosophy) while having something practical (Econ & Eng) for a difficult job market (‘08 - ‘09)."
