Overview

I am interested in how biologists investigate, explain, and model causal processes in evolutionary phenomena. To understand these practices, I study the history and philosophy of scientific representation in ecology and evolution. In addition, I have recent projects on aesthetics and the relationship between matter and laws in Newtonian philosophy.

In June 2023, I will be a visiting researcher in the Pence Lab at the Université catholique de Louvain. During the 2023-2024 academic year, I will be a visiting scholar in the Philosophy Department at the University of Pennsylvania.
