Imagination and Modal Cognition Lab

Imagination and Modal Cognition Lab Logo

Using a number of behavioral and neuroimaging techniques, the Imagination and Modal Cognition Lab explores ways in which philosophy and cognitive neuroscience interface. Most of our research concerns interactions between memory and imagination, particularly during hypothetical and counterfactual thinking. We also explore interactions between attention, consciousness and memory retrieval. Some of our projects also concern the use of different statistical analysis in neuroimaging and their repercussions on our understanding of mental states and functions. Finally, we also investigate how results in cognitive psychology and neuroscience impact our judgments of responsibility.
