Overview

I am a PhD student in the Department of Philosophy and an MA candidate in Bioethics and Science Policy, specializing in medical ethics and moral psychology. I graduated from Duke Law School in 2017, focusing on health law.

I work on issues in the philosophy of death and dying, in particular on how we can "die well." I also work on other philosophical issues at the end of life, including the ethics of anti-aging research, physician assisted suicide law and policy, and the treatment of older patients, especially those with dementia. My current projects look at the relationship between palliative care and dying well. I am also fascinated by memoirs of the dying as a guide to how patients experience the dying process.
